Ready for RED!

Red hair has become so popular lately and I love! The color is so vibrant and warm that I think I'm going to dye my hair soon. It's quite a big step for me, well not really. I've dyed many a times but never anything as vibrant and this time instead of the box i think i'm going to sacrifice my money to actually get it salon dyed! Wish me luck!!! Oh and an update I actually did the shaved haircut i was in love a few months back. See? Taking risk is a  good thing.

What beauty risk are you ready to take? xoxo

Addiction #1: Relaxation Videos

Hey guys! Well I have trouble sleeping sometimes just like anyone else mostly because I wake up at 5:50 and don't hit the hay till 11 or 12! Awhile ago I stumbled upon something interesting on YouTube.com quite a bit of people make these videos called "whisper videos" where people record themselves whispering about really random things like makeup, video games, favorite foods some are even scripted as relaxation videos. So I've actually made it a habit of taking daily naps while listening to these videos, sometimes I'm not even sleepy and they'll knock me out! My favorite whisperer is a Turkish woman located in England called WhisperCrystal. She has a very relaxing voice and accent plus I like the style of her videos. She has videos where she whispers relaxing things and "softly spoken" videos that are kind of role play style where she plays as a yoga instructor, flight attendant, massage therapists etc. Which are very relaxing and put me in that situation which is amazing! So kudos to her! If you guys ever have trouble sleeping check out her videos or any other whisperers like Sound Coma, CrisperWhisper, WhisperPrincess. I know it sounds weird but check it out regardless! :)

What's your favorite thing to do on YouTube?

Chant#5: I Shaved My Head

This title is a bit deceiving because I only shaved half my head ;) Well on someone else's blog post I saw that she had posted how much she wanted a certain half shaved hairstyle but she didn't think it would look well. So be the "dare devil" that I am (sarcasm is being used heavily!) I said to myself that since I thought the hairstyle was pretty darn cool that I'll take the plung and go to the hair salon tomorrow and ask them to shave my head! Now here is the funny thing I walked into Great Clips a little uneasy therefore I didn't bring up the whole shaving thing up too early into my cut but when I did all hell broke loose! The nice young blonde hairdresser I had scrunched her face and quickly left me to "ask about it" to another blonde hairdresser ,who was very forward, looked at the photo and said "Are you serious?" and lectured me about how its half of my head, I'm losing a lot of hair and all the cons I suppose which made me rethink my whole idea. When it came down to the shaving part I had four hairdressers surrounding me giving the girl chopping my locks all kinds of advice but she managed to do it all by herself and now I have a shaved head that I love!!! Yup I said it. Its edgy and fresh. Great for a new school year in my opinion!
Here's the photo that left the Great Clips employees baffled!
And some other photos of some beautiful models with this cut :D
So share with me any crazy hairstyles you've had! Did you hate it or love it?
I dare you to go out and do something like this! Haha.

Chant #4: Plans for New School Year!

I've gone through eleven school years before in my life but this new School Year is going to be quite different. I have been planning since last year to start taking college classes at the community college near my high school so I can graduate by junior year :D So this fall I'm taking college level English. I've always been pretty skilled at language arts so it'll be a piece of cake (I hope).
Something else that's new is the schedule change. The dreaded schedule change... I was used to having four and hour and a half long classes in one day. I liked it because it gave me a chance to do homework and the such but now according to my counselor because of low tests scores the schedule is now 7 fifty minute classes!!! Hell no! That means MORE homework and LESS time to work on it in class. Which also means less time for sports, free time, hanging out and excersice. :(
Speaking of sports guess who's is trying out for cross country this year? This gal! Or cheerleading...but then again that sport seems more challenging therefore if I do a bad job the others on my team might become bitches. I used to run all the time! Almost everyday! But alas I've lost that habit so I'm hoping this helps me getting my running feet back :) Truthfully I'm really nervous for it. Teenagers are so mean! I hope they don't make fun of me for not being so great. I REALLY hope I do well.
Another change this year is something that I've noticed for awhile but haven't dubbed as a serious problem till after my trip to the doctor two weeks ago. My weight has gone from 130lbs to 155lbs since I relocated. :( So a new goal for this year is to lose weight. My goal is 130 again. I've changed to a vegetarian diet and try to excersice everyday. So soon I might see results.
My last big change is I'm trying to expand my friend circle! I NEED to! Desperately! I haven't made many because I'm a pretty shy person and my personality around new people comes off as detached but I'm really trying to change that! This year I'm going to be someday :)

So those were my "new school year goals" ha! Wish me luck with all these!!!
Do you have any goals? Share with me!

Chant #3: Summer Fashion

Hello! So I took the time to throw a couple of pieces of clothing that I don't really wear anymore together into great summer outfits that I would enjoying wearing in the midst of this heat. I only came up with 3 outfits since my clothes may not suit other individuals very well but I think I did a good job making outfits that can be pleasing to your eyes as well. So here we go!

Outfit #1
Okay so the first look is kind of an artsy throwback of the 1950s. A high waisted ruffled black and beige polka dot skirt paired with a denim vest buttoned up as a top and crocodile heeled shoes. I like this for summer because it looks really fun and free. I imagine and artistic sort of person to wear something like this. The denim vest has this worn in edgy look thats softened by the girlish skirt and proper like shoes. I love it because since the vest hits at the waist it makes it look nice and tiny and I'm not showing off too much skin because the skirt goes up to right where the vest ends. Since the shoes are a neutral color I thought it blends in quite well with the rest and it adds a touch more sweetness. As for accessories a straw fedora pulls all the pieces together.
 Very artsy.
 Edgy and worn in.
 Brown and crocodile.
Simple heel.
Perfect accessory.

Outfit #2
This outfit is a bit more sophisticated. A ruffled top with beige cargo shorts and red wedge heels. I imagine this outfit to be worn for an evening out on the town when you don't want to dress up intensely but still want some sophistication and comfort. I kept it on the sweeter side with the white ruffle top it has a tiny bit of detail that didn't catch on the photos though, the cargo shorts are really simple they bring more casualness to the outfit and look a lot fresher than black shorts plus the tie when made into s bow (as shown) keeps it sweet. The red heels though are what make it ready for a night on the town. Wedges when in a solid color all over look very modern and fun. Plus with another red accent put the outfit in place.

 Evening worthy?
 Sweet ruffles.
 Modern wedge.
 Fun bright color.
 Necklace wrapped into a bracelet.
Crisp cargo shorts.
Outfit #3
This is more of a beach cover up outfit. It happens to be more on the laid back urban side. I thought that the best way to wear a swimsuit a revealing cut out swimsuit out of the water would be to pair it with some baggy (but not too baggy) rolled up sweats and some shiny sandals so it's not so hobo-ish :-) The sweats in the photo are cotton but I suggest using ones made of sweat resistant material so its not so hot. I think the sweats and the swimsuit balance each other out quite well and the sandals keep them from clashing too much.
 How peculiar?
Colorful swimsuit with soft grey sweats.
Some bling for this outfit.
Not entirely flat.

So thats it you guys! I hope this inspires some cool outfit of your own. This was pretty fun, I might make more of these kinds of posts. So stay tuned! Leave a comment below of which outfit you liked (or disliked) the most. Your opinions are greatly appreciated. Xoxo

Chan t#2: My Day At The Zoo

I went to the Folsom City Zoo Sanctuary today! It was my first time getting to see wild animals that close up before and it was great. The weather was warm but not too hot especially because I was wearing a breezy dress. Plus the place wasn't packed with people either! I really enjoyed myself too. The first animals I saw were two medium sized monkeys (not sure about the type) and then I traveled on towards a cage of four feral cats which made me squeals! I  cats. I saw more animals like foxes, hybrid wolves (I didn't know those existed!), bobcats (one only had 3 legs), golden eagles, black bears, raccoons, coyotes, wolves, squirrels, owls, deer, mountain lions and tigers. Unfortunately I didn't get to take pictures of all of the animals I saw but I got it all up in my brain which is the most important. My favorite animals were the foxes because they were so energetic and look really happy even though they were sharing a cage. I really wanted to see tigers before I got there but the two tigers at the sanctuary, Pouncer and Misty, were very sleepy tigers. They didn't let anyone wake them from their slumber. Lazy cats. ^_^ Lucky for us they woke up a bit before we decided to leave. The place looked very clean and I think all the animals looked taken care of. I did a lot of walking around too. I loved seeing all those animals. It was so cute seeing the animals sleep and be cozy. I hope I get to go see a bigger zoo with more animals someday but I'm grateful for this visit. What animals would you like to see at a zoo? Leave a comment! xoxo

A very lazy tiger taking a nap

One of the fuzzy and playful foxes

A young mountain lion that they only let out at certain times of the day because she can't play with older mountain lions :-(
A thirsty black bear (that looks brown to me)

Rant #2: Too Much Sexy

Here I go...
Something I find very very very annoying about the media today is how much sex and sexy things are being thrown out there. I've witnessed it many of times now and just thought to myself "Well that's America" but it came more to my attention when I saw a music video by Barbadian singer Rihanna a week ago. Rihanna's song "Man down" is from her fifth studio album "Loud" the underlying message of the song is about rape and abuse which is usually not a place where you would find a woman trying to be sexy but thats what Rihanna did. The video opens with her shooting a man from a window above and then her fleeing the scene. After the video takes place the day before where Rihanna seems to be having fun with friends. She sports an awry of sexy outfits through out the video. One scene while at the club she is dancing rapidly wearing a midriff top and tight shorts which I thought was a bit striking. Marijuana is also present in the video. See for yourself what I'm talking about on the video below. Tell me your thoughts on Rihanna's video.

Chant #1: Summer Has Officially Arrived

Okay summer is here (finally!) in my small Yolo county city. Which of course means breaking out the old swimsuit. The reason I'm so excited is not because I've been working out like crazy to get a six pack (because I haven't) but because it has been cold, windy and raining non stop from the beginning of May and early June but now the sun is shining and the pools are open for business. I've stocked up on some summer clothes that I'm more than ready to wear! One being this dress from Target for $27
Not too bad and its really flowy, colorful and festive!

I also purchased a great swimsuit. I usually don't like to buy a new swimsuit every year but I really wanted a swimsuit with some cool cutouts to kind of give me the illusion of a smaller waist. So here it is from Forever 21 for $20
At first I wasn't sure I wanted to buy it because of that plunging neck line but I got passed that once I put it on. I also really like the colorful floral design.

There was also a sale at Wet Seal where I bought a couple staple pieces. My entire purchase was only $15 dollars for 5 cute summery items. Needles to say I actually returned one of the items because me getting so wrapped up in my savings on accident chose out a skort thinking they were shorts so I returned them and for some store credit. (Which I still haven't used!)

What I have yet to buy are a some great shorts! I like the distressed shorts with the rips and the fading. Those always seem effortlessly cool to me but I never feel good about buying my clothes already damaged :P Some other types of shorts on my radar are colored short. Those look so fun! It's a bright pop of color without even trying. I love the attention those bring I actually have a teal pair but I wanted to go for some different colors. High waisted shorts are also something I would love to try. I actually have never worn anything high waisted. So let me know in the comments where I can buy some affordable shorts that are gonna last me till next summer. Xoxo

Rant #1: Real Woman VS Bean Pole Debate

I know I know, real woman have curves ...but what does that make the girls that grew up to have  size A cup breast and  flat butts? Are they fake woman? They look real to me. I'm all for embracing what you got and not obsessing over stick thin model bodies but I also consider the feelings of the slimmer girls. I sometimes wish i had a slim body that could fit into anything. But if you stop and think I bet those girls I'm wishing I looked like are wishing they had some assets I have  too. It's sad that we cant always accept how we were born but before you bash the other body type to make yours seem better just stop and think. Instead of saying "Real woman have curves" say "I love my curves" or instead of praying for a bigger chest to grow upon you just keep your body fit and healthy and buy some clothes that make you feel confident. Love every body type. Peace among ectomorphs and endomorphs people! xoxo

Obssesion #1: Baking

Well as you can tell by the tittle of this blog, yes I am indeed a chubby girl not just by body type but by heart. I love sweet treats. Soft serve ice cream and frozen yogurt are my go-to treats when I'm out and about with my boyfriend. Pizza and chips is a girls's sleepover delight! I love me some good old cake at feistas and weddings. Yet not a big fan of candy bars. (haha) What I love more than yummy treats is making my own. I love baking! I love putting out all the ingredients, setting out the mixing bowls, greasing the pans, pre-heating the oven ALL of it! Especially tasting the mixtures. ;) The aroma of cookies in the oven is delightful to me. I'm actually still a newbie to baking though. (Don't really follow the exact measurements for some ingredients)  My boyfriend was the one that got me into it actually we used to bake together a lot. Our first (successful) works of art were two  rainbow cakes that were delicious! Since then we have experimented with many other baked goods but when he doesn't visit I whip up my own creations that I'm quite proud of. (I have peanut butter cookies in the oven as I type) I'm still learning about what some ingredients are actually for ex. baking soda, baking powder, salt but its so much fun! So fare I've baked black and white cupcakes, oatmeal chocolate chip raisin cookies, chocolate vanilla chip cookies, chocolate chip cookies sugar cookies and now peanut butter cookies on my own. I hope I bake a lot more treats this year. Well happy baking everyone! Plus picture of mine and Marco's rainbow cakes below. xoxo

What do you guys think? Leave a comment below about your thoughts on baking.

Chocolate Face Mask

Okay, am I the only one who has dreamed of laying in a tub of creamy chocolate? Yea I thought so. Well since we're not all going to go buy bricks of dark chocolate to melt into our bathtubs anytime soon. (Give me another year;) I have the closest thing to that and here it is. Chocolate face mask, ENJOY!

Welcome

Hello everyone. I know the title of this blog is kind of odd but rest assured. This isn't gonna be your regular weight loss blog! I'm not gonna mope about how much I hate my body or any of that. I'm not gonna keep a log of how many veggies and fruits I ate or gush over Jennifer Aniston's gams. I'm here to talk real with you as my life as a chubby girl. Who likes to bake cookies and cupcakes and then eat 5 of them! And how much I adore flaunting my figure in dresses! While keeping fit and healthy (as I want to be)
